Success Story: B2B Integration – Transportation and Logistics

REMEDI  was recently able to provide a large Transportation &  Logistics company with a complete B2B Integration solution.  This project was collaborative with IBM Mid-Market B2B Integration Team Reselling +$100K Transportation & Logistics Software, Services, and Training Solution.

Business Challenge

The client’s vision for the project was to replace Dell’s Boomi eCommerce solution with IBM’s B2B Integrator solution. The B2B Integrator solution systematizes internal business processes, and those shared with trading partners, to automate the complete buy-sell-ship-pay process providing visibility into information and processes shared with internal/external applications and stakeholders. The features above not being achievable through the Boomi solution, client also required a solution that would grow with the expansion of their transportation and logistics eCommerce environment over a five to ten year time period.

Business Solution

REMEDI was able to provide client a full spectrum of implementation services including:
Pre-purchase – initial discovery (as-is), initial discovery (planned state), architecture design, “best practice” road map, conversion road map, training plan development, assembly of software order
Purchase - B2B Integration software sale, IBM financing, software fulfillment
Post-purchase - B2B Integrator installation, configuration, and implementation, partner configuration and implementation, business process design, development, and testing, map design, development, and testing, system, BP, and map training and knowledge transfer, other implementation duties as required

Results

The retirement project executed by REMEDI and client replaced the current legacy environment with a more robust software solution. The project was also the foundation of a longer-term vision of integration allowing client to handle variations in volumes of data due to seasonal peaks, gain greater control of their business processes, and provide better visibility into data and business processes.
The REMEDI, IBM, and client collaboration resulted in the licensing and implementation of IBM’s B2B Integrator software, providing client an integration linchpin solution for their world class integration environment.
