The X-Link conversion engine is an automated tool that converts Gentran™ Unix Visual Maps to Application Integrator or Sterling Integrator (GIS) maps, cutting remapping time and cost by as much as 75-80%.
For organizations considering the move to Sterling Integrator, but concerned about the time and cost involved with the remapping effort in a move from Gentran™ Unix to Sterling Integrator, this service makes the consideration more palatable.
There are also many installations of Gentran™ Unix where companies have chosen to continue utilizing the product. Some of these companies have maps in both Visual and Application Integrator formats but would like to convert to an all Application Integrator approach. X-Link can convert those maps as well.
Finally, there are those with Sterling Integrator and Gentran™ Unix in production, with the conversion stalled due to time or budget. This service makes map conversion economical and decommissioning Gentran™ Unix possible.
In all of these instances the X-Link conversion engine can take the process of remapping from 16-24 hours per map, to as low as 2-4 hours per map, which includes map finalization and testing time.
Maps delivered to REMEDI are processed, converted and delivered back to the client within hours. Deliverables include the converted map and a conversion log that details the conversion events with notations about functions in Visual Maps not supported in Sterling Integrator / Application Integrator maps which require coding in the finalization process. The actual conversion process takes as little as 2.5 seconds per map.
REMEDI offers map finalization and testing services along with the conversion services. Clients may also do their own map finalization and testing if they choose.
To demonstrate the process, deliverables, and proof of concept, REMEDI will convert up to 5 maps at no cost to you.
