Inspiring Brilliant Action in Business with the 4 C’s

Have you been inspired by someone brilliant recently?  Spring has arrived on the calendar and it reminds me of a conference I was invited to this time last year by friends that I respect in the business community.  We are always looking for opportunities to sharpen our business acumen and extend our circle of influence. We knew one of the presenters was cited by Meetings and Conventions magazine’s as “One of the best keynote speakers ever heard”, putting him in the same category as Bill Gates, General Colin Powell and Tony Robbins.

Simon T. Bailey was our Keynote speaker and is a brilliant thinker!   Pen and paper in hand…eyes and ears alert…ready to receive the message.  Simon spoke about the 4 C’s:  Clarity, Cut, Color and Carat. He shared that we’re all diamonds that need a little polishing from time to time.

  • Clarity: Understanding your reason and purpose
  • Cut: Understanding how to frame past experiences
  • Color: How do you think about what you want to do and how to get there
  • Carat: The size of your dream.

In Business we can apply these same principles…

  • Clarity:  Fully Understanding the needs of your clients.
  • Cut: Build on past successes to enrich your client’s experience.
  • Color: Listen to what your clients want and collaborate on achieving that goal.
  • Carat:  Look for opportunities to positively affect every one of your clients.
