I read an interesting article the other day from CIO Magazine. The article lends to a slow but growing confidence in the economy and should make those in the IT industry a bit more encouraged. Hopefully this will give all of us a little needed pep in our step as we head into 2011. Below are the highlights of the article, which polled over 250 IT leaders.
- Over half plan to ramp up budgets in 2011, while only 16% are planning cuts
- 64% plan to increase IT capital spending
- The three biggest areas of increase in spending will be in applications (50%), web and mobile (42%), and compensation (40%)
- 48% of IT leaders say that their business has stabilized and are returning to growth
