IT Leaders Looking Toward 2011

I read an interesting article the other day from CIO Magazine. The article lends to a slow but growing confidence in the economy and should make those in the IT industry a bit more encouraged.  Hopefully this will give all of us a little needed pep in our step as we head into 2011.  Below are the highlights of the article, which polled over 250 IT leaders.

calendar
  • Over half plan to ramp up budgets in 2011, while only 16% are planning cuts
  • 64% plan to increase IT capital spending
  • The three biggest areas of increase in spending will be in applications (50%), web and mobile (42%), and compensation (40%)
  • 48% of IT leaders say that their business has stabilized and are returning to growth
These are some encouraging signs.  Hopefully things will continue to trend upward, not only for those in IT but for all industries.
