The CIO's Agenda for 2009, A Review

While shuffling through some miscellaneous papers on my desk this week, I came across some notes that I had from the Sterling Commerce Customer Connection in April. The notes were from a session that I attended that outlined the Financial Services CIO's agenda for 2009. This information was assembled and presented by Gartner at the conference. As we enter fourth quarter of 2009, I thought it was interesting to reflect back on what CIO's were focusing on in early 2009. Here is what they found were CIO's top business priorities for 2009.

CIO's Top 5 Business Priorities for 2009
  • Improving Business Processes
  • Cutting Enterprise Costs
  • Attracting and Retaining New Customers
  • Creating New Products and Services
  • Supporting Regulation, Reporting, and Compliance Requirements

How have these business priorities remained the same or shifted within your organization as we start to plan for 2010? It is interesting to compare where we all are now to where we were then.
