Create Multiple Vendor Data Extracts Using Microsoft Fabric

Create Multiple Vendor Data Extracts Using Microsoft Fabric

National Provider of Self-Funded Health Benefits

Situation:

This national provider of self-funded employer health benefits was facing an aggressive deadline to consolidate multiple TPA systems into single Azure-based claims-paying platform. The client had decided in the fall to change their payment engine and was now facing a January 1st go-live.

Meeting the deadline meant consolidating the payment systems and creating ~50 vendor data extracts from a Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse to keep integrations and eligibility workflows stable during the cutover. However, they lacked internal staff with Microsoft Fabric experience, which the project would require to be successful.

Solution:

Evolving requirements introduced by other stakeholders during the search compounded the challenge of delivering the consultant best suited for the role. Recognizing the urgency of the client’s need, Remedi’s consulting team used a dynamic, adaptive strategy that combined the team’s recruiting expertise, private talent network, and AI-enhanced analytics. Ultimately the team delivered a consultant who was highly skilled with HIPAA-compliant data extract use cases deploying Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Factory, among other tools.

Impact on Business:
Remedi’s data engineering consultant was able to quickly understand the situation and environment and identify potential roadblocks. Through a combination of stakeholder engagement and thorough documentation, he performed the data extracts as required far enough in advance of the cutover to prevent business disruption, vendor data errors, or selection friction among employer plan participants. In addition, the consultant proposed a cost optimization strategy for ADF pipelines and overall Azure usage that led to the client expanding the relationship beyond the project.
