Finding EDI Talent for Your Team

Superbowl_Pic.jpgNext week is the big game. Its a chance to see the two best teams in the NFL battle for all the glory. The The big game has always been a great excuse to get together with friends and family to watch the game and have a good time. We always have everyone bring an appetizer to our party so there is plenty of junk food to enjoy right in the middle of your New Year’s resolution to lose weight and eat healthy. Its amazing when you think about it how much the game has evolved the last 50 years. Now it seems we get more enjoyment from commercials than the game itself. The price for one 30 second commercial is what some companies devote to their marketing budget for an entire year!

I remember the year when all the job websites had multiple commercials. Monster and Careerbuilder had two such commercials that come to mind. I'm sure these commercials drove a lot of traffic to their websites from both employers and candidates, but it was likely overwhelming. I remember using the websites and seeing resumes for every job imaginable. It seemed the main websites were full of people that were not employable because they were previously fired, couldn’t pass a background check, or hadn't worked in a long time. Job search websites didn’t work because of the simple fact that people that are employable are usually already working and are not looking for a job. You don’t see Monster or Careerbuilder commercials during the Superbowls anymore because they found out that they can’t sustain that business model and be profitable.

Now think about trying to find a software developer with a particular product like IBM B2B Sterling Integrator or IBM Gentran Server Windows or UNIX. How about Connect:Direct, GXS, Trusted Link Enterprise/Iseries/AS400/UNIX? Niche EDI software developers are hard to find because there are so few people in the US that have that type of experience. Again, the best talent has no problems keeping their schedules full, or the work is done overseas.

When two teams meet for the big game, their scouts and general managers have done a great job finding talent for their football teams. How do you find quality talent for your EDI team? The answer is simple, you call REMEDI Electronic Commerce Group for all of your project or employment needs either for contract, contract to hire or perm.
