Happy Holidays from Remedi Electronic Commerce Group

2012 has been a busy year for Remedi as well as for many of our customers.  Much of this year’s focus has centered on Big Data and Integration in a year that highlights business growth and challenges.  To wrap up the year we thought we’d recap some of events and topics that have been popular this year.

The team at Remedi enjoyed connecting with our customers and business partners this year at events such as NEECOM, GS1, and IBM Smarter Commerce.  We would like to thank all of our partners and customers for a great year.

calendarAs we look forward to 2013, don’t forget to…….

Taking a look back on the year, here are the 3 most popular topics of 2012:

Big Data:  With the forecasted doubling of integration traffic from 2010 to 2014, many businesses are starting the slow but steady migration of multiple stand-alone solutions .

Factors driving the development of these new enterprise and B2B integration infrastructures include:
  • The ability/inability of aging single-purpose tools to keep up with transactional growth
  • The SOA design of new integration software and services
  • The build out of middleware tools with B2B capabilities and B2B tools with middleware capabilities
  • The audit, security, and reliability of next-generation tools
While integration suites offer many benefits, modern stand-alone solutions still provide good vertical functionality and performance if a holistic approach to integration is not for you, due either to budget constraints or having your various integration needs covered with point solutions. At the end of the day the ability to offer cost-effective, scalable integration solutions presents your best bet to remain relevant and viable in a fiercely competitive environment.  What does this mean for your business?

A new industry initiative, EPN STP 820, seeks to remove barriers to electronic payments by establishing a consistent format and information flow to be included with each electronic transaction.  A study, “The Value of An Enterprise Integration Strategy”, by Forrester Consulting for IBM Sterling Commerce has found that STP or straight-through-processing is closer to reality than ever before for most businesses.  Learn more about the benefits of closing the loop.
