At the end of first quarter 2009, REMEDI administered an informal survey to integration and eCommerce leaders in various companies across many different vertical industries.

The results were interesting to say the least. The survey results confirmed assumptions in some areas, and enlightened us in others. The intent of this survey was to better understand attitudes and awareness surrounding integration and E-commerce from a contract services and recruiting/placement perspective.

Data Integration Strategy, Integration Suites - What's Your Plan?

In blog articles from February...B2B eCommerce Opportunities in Today's Economy and March...B2B eCommerce - The Stimulus Package For Your Organization, I talked about organizations that view the IT department as a valuable driver of efficiency and effectiveness though the systems they develop. I also spoke of opportunities where existing integration tools could further support the business in tough economic times. The result of these additional solutions include enhanced productivity, reduced cycle times, and enhanced business process modeling/management, allowing for better business network integration, collaboration, and supply chain visibility/management. With the constrained budgets of many, much of my ranting early in the year was about getting the most out of the data integration tools that exist within the organization.

2009 IT Budget Alternatives

In an earlier post, B2B eCommerce Opportunities in Today's Economy, I mentioned a couple of ways IT executives may be handling budgets and staff in the current economic climate. Many IT executives are asking eCommerce managers to slash headcount, curtail integration efforts, and defer key eCommerce projects. My notion was that in these companies IT has to constantly sell business areas on the value of their existence or face shrinking budgets and relevance to their organizations.
