Recently, Blog authors from Remedi have outlined the value of upgrading software to supported versions and some of the risks in not doing so...see the Blog from earlier this month Supporting Systems and Staying Current.  In addition to staying current and associated benefits, the article outlined version support for B2B Software from the likes of Cleo/EXTOL, TIE, and IBM.

One new and related announcement that occurred this week in the Managed File Transfer (MFT) category was from IBM concerning Sterling Connect:Enterprise.

Transformative B2B & MFT Initiatives and Leadership

Every once in a while you attend a presentation or seminar that is really impactful.  The exceptional ones resonate in your personal life and in your professional life.  Several members of our team at REMEDI, including myself, attended such an event just last week.

The event was the Smarter Commerce Leadership Forum in Dublin, Ohio, hosted by IBM.  The speaker was Eric Greitens, a Navy SEAL, award-winning author, Rhodes Scholar, humanitarian and Founder and CEO of The Mission Continues.  Eric spoke about living with resilience and leading with strength and compassion through adverse circumstances.  His work these days is filled with efforts that transform how America views its veterans, and how they view themselves particularly through his organization The Mission Continues.

The premise of his talk, his personal efforts, and those of his organization revolve around inspiring and guiding veterans who have served their country, to a related life of service to country, community, family, mankind, etc. after military service and/or injury. 

I cannot possibly recount all I learned from this event, but here are a few key life and business lessons that were take aways from the leadership forum...

I've been noticing a trend as of late.  You see a lot of new businesses having Grand Opening celebrations, but what's up with companies having Grand Re-Opening celebrations? 

Grand Re-Openings are a somewhat new marketing technique...attention getting and usually revolving around a new facility, new business format, new products, and/or new services.  So what does this have to do with Data Integration, Data Transformation, and Data Exchange?

Having contingency plans and redundancy in business is key to ensuring you have the inputs, production, and delivery mechanisms necessary to satify customer product or service demands.  This holds true for businesses of all sizes and reach, local or global.  The bigger the reach, or more complex the business, the more critical having these plans become. 

This also holds true for the business, data, and EDI integration responsibilities we have to our organizations.
